Conant Metal & Light Adds Expertise to

Hinesburg’s Net Zero Energy Home

Journalists from O Magazine, Martha Stewart Living and other national publications will descend on Hinesburg beginning May 1, 2009 to experience first hand what it means to live in an environmentally sustainable home.

Conant Metal & Light was chosen as a local resource to illuminate the home built by Chuck Reiss and his Vermont Building Resources team, using table lamps and a ceiling fixture created or restored in Conant’s Pine Street, Burlington studio.

Conant’s ecologically intelligent designs incorporate re-purposed materials and vintage fixtures restored to be energy efficient.  Six diverse and interesting lighting creations are being displayed in the energy sustainable home located at the South Farm development clustered on the Russell Farm in Hinesburg.

Conant’s use of glass insulators and Steam Punk parts produced in the early 1900’s gives new meaning to smart, ecologically responsible and locally produced lighting alternatives.

Steve Conant says, “The greenest lighting today is not only energy efficient, but is also made or restored locally from petroleum-free materials and/or re-purposed parts.”
